Wicker Lamp
Description
This lamp has a unique story; it is crafted in the Rif region by Berber women. Before becoming a lamp, it served as a couscous steamer! Made with fiber harvested along riverbanks, it withstands tight weaving, retaining heat due to its conical shape. The four openings at the base maximize heat collection, evenly dispersing it upwards. However, using a white cotton cloth was necessary for this purpose. We had the idea to repurpose this kitchen utensil into a lamp, presenting it to two projects. An international restaurant appreciated the concept, particularly the playful and storytelling aspect behind the object.
As a 100% handmade product, there will always be variations of a few centimeters. The diameter will vary depending on the unique weaving style of each woman involved in the crafting process.
